Wire lids, raised wire floors, multiple-cage racks and all other metal components are corrosion-resistant, autoclavable, type 304 stainless steel with an electropolished finish. Water bottle caps are type 316 stainless steel. Unlike galvanized or nickel-plated parts, there is no coating to chip off or corrode.
